im glad im far from the only one that found this quite boring. it took me ages to finish it.
this was like lucky star except actually funny sometimes and with some (very short) plots. i couldn’t give this much but had to score it higher than lucky star, so i gave it a 7
Love this series! So funny, unexpected and lovable. Took me a long time to finish this show but it is one of my favorites still, perhaps my favorite comedy anime
Nichijou is one of those shows that takes me forever to watch. I really enjoy it, but it takes a lot out of me to digest. Every single episode is chock full of intense, varied, fast-paced comedy so it feels wrong to marathon. Well, it took 2 years, but I'm finally done, and what a ride.
Maybe Nano's key really was the "key" to the whole show. If it was an intended pun, then I wouldn't be surprised. That key is ever-present, annoying, inconvenient, and cumbersome to Nano, but it's also an integral part of her everyday life. I'm reminded of Aria the Animation, where the inconveniences of daily life lends to a sense of nostalgia. Then again, it was also part of an elaborate, ongoing gag, so perhaps it's not as meaningful as it may seem. Nichijou could be a show about treasuring all the little, absurd things in life, or it could just be about a bunch of idiots doing idiotic things in the most grandiose ways possible. Taking the little things in life and exaggerating them to become larger than life, for better or worse.
This is a fantastic show, and it reminds me of the best parts of Azumanga Daioh, but somehow even more insane. Great stuff.
Great way to end it with the key spinning. Nano accepted her "ordinary life" as the best life for herself, togheter with her family and friends, the life that makes her happy.
I loved this episode. It wrapped up so nicely and Nano is my absolute favorite character. One thing I don’t get is how the key already spun when Nano was happy and Hakase said she made it be able to do that in this episode. Are things out of order? Otherwise, awesome show, great episode, we need another season now.
This show had so much passion and care put into it and the comedy was a riot, I was watching this alongside Azumanga Daiou and it was one of the best anime watching experiences I had, the Shinonome household was always a bless to watch and those Nano episodes were so beautiful.
In the statue segment they mentioned something about a Shinonome principal, it could be who I'm thinking?. Yuuko was very lucky today, accidentally protecting her friends, even the ants and helping Misato hahaha. The rock paper scissors song, was so good to hear it again after too long, I was expecting this moment for too long. So that is the lore of Sakamoto, he is actually Taisho and just escaped to came to a equal place hahaha, I wanted to see Nakamura realizing that he can talk or something like that, could be better the reunion. Nano's birthday, I wanted to see a big party where everyone was there. I was expecting Nakamura to be there or something. This episode was a bit dissapointing, I was expecting it to close many subplots like the relationship of Misato and Sasahara, or the teacher and the other teacher, or something about the igo club, something was happening there but they didn't show it. Also the plot of Nakamura and Nano but seems like all of that will remain unsolved forever.
My favorite characters were Nakamura, Mai and the sensei but I have to choose only one so the best character is the sensei, could be Mai or Nakamura if she had her screentime.
I enjoyed very much this show, was very relaxing and good to turn off the brain, was also very funny in some parts but very tedious in others, I also likes the artstyle, it contributed to be so relaxing. A thing I didn't like as I said is that it didn't close the plots. So my final score is 7/10, now is time to watch the ova and then it will be complete. It took me a pretty long time to watch hahaha.
