So it's more than that 1 scene at the beginning. That's a little worrying for a game like DS where it's edge adds a lot of weight for the player. Blunt those edges too much and in simply becomes less interesting.

The whole 'It's not censorship, it's a rework' line feels super disingenuous too. Changing content to 'less risky' content because of upcoming reviews (their words) is undeniably censorship whatever way they want to paint it. Don't piss on somebody's boots and tell them it's raining.

People are right to be questioning the game's direction that's for sure.

Having read most of the reports on 0.17 here, there is more, and there are still some things unclear to me.
Made a (scenes) list based on the reports. I'm not sure what 'Ain's massage' is referring to, don't recall it, but it has been mentioned.
Maybe someone that played through it can fill in the blanks / question marks:

I think Ka1tzer made a good report on the beta (#20,878). If he's reading this: I wonder what your findings are now the final has been released?

Even if you don't mind the change I think it's quite clearly censorship. Logically speaking if they're changing to fall in line with Patreon rules then they aren't going take 'risks' going forward. Like I said in the first post, a lot of the charm in this game is that it's a little 'closer to the edge'.

they do cut the content and some content even when the render still in game files there's no other way to trigger. so we still can call that censorship, like it or not.

Which makes devs deleting these images even more ridiculous. And yes, it is censorship. Censorship is not only "blurring a penis or vagina", it's also removing content. By definition "censor" means:

1. A person authorized to examine books, films, or other material and to remove or suppress what is considered morally, politically, or otherwise objectionable.

And while I agree that deleting these 5 images isn't the end of the world (although it changes the scene significantly) the fact itself that they've done it is what worries me because there will always be danger that from now on scenes will have to take into account what patreon admins might think.

That why it confusing. The game files are still clearly in the game but Paz said it was removed because of Patreon. And I don't know the exact date of the recent massive ban wave that happened there before or after v0.16. But if the files are still there they could just easily bring it back when the game is complete and no longer on Patreon.

Firstly it dramatically changes the tone of the scene.

Secondly you're appealing to triviality. Yes it would be making a mountain out of a molehill if it was just this alone but it's more about precedent moving forwards.

this is just beginning, because sure they will cut future content before release. what i mean is they will not follow original plan anymore, they will follow patreon path. wich is why this suck more than current situation.

I'd much rather have a game that:
- I like 98% and
- is on major platforms (patreon/steam) which allows the developers to create way more of the stuff I 98% like

than
- a game I like 100%, but
- has a far smaller reach, success, and thus resources for development.

The amount of crying over 5 renders in the last few pages is kinda ridiculous. Yes, developers have to modify their vision sometimes. It's the world we live in. This game is still one of the best around despite this horrific censorship.

Recent changes not the first edit to censor. Ain was younger in the beginning. Also the scene where she was chastised for leaving the key where the prisoner could escape had several angles removed.

This is exactly what I mean, some scenes it just didn't trigger to somebody doesn't mean it didn't trigger to others and the game is censored. Because the files are still literally there.
Again this could just all be bugs in the new code that we wouldn't know and need to be fixed overtime.
